In spite of its steady links with
Austria, lasting from 1526 to the
Great War, the most remarkable
works of art here are reminiscent of
Venetian influence, as in the large
Villa Steffaneo, Roncato (1600s) at Crauglio,
embellished with stuccoes and frescoes
attributed to Francesco Chiarottini and
Francesco Fontebasso (18th-cent.), while some

the venue of a horse show. At San Vito,
in the parish church of SS. Vito and Modesto,
built in 1778 on the site of an earlier church,
the Baroque altar and paintings and later
works may be admired.
