they are living in a piece of
America grown around the Aviano
military base, with bowling alleys
and large shopping centres that
have made a fine show along the
road to Aviano for decades, or with
barbecues always on in the nice
detached houses. If you want to
find the individual dimension of
the town recently

threatened by the pressure of the
nearby chief town always looking for new
residential areas- it is advisable to explore
places such as the oratory of
San Sebastiano (16th cent.) or, not far away,
the shrine of Madonna della Lovera,
which treasure, in the frescoed plaster
of their walls, the needs, fears and hopes of
a peasant population deeply rooted to its
territory. In the Neoclassical Parish Church
of San Bartolomeo a spout sculpted by
A. Pavanello (1636) may be seen, as well as
a painting attributed to F. Trevisani
(18th cent.) and wall decorations by G. De
Lorenzi (1872 ca.); more paintings are kept
in the small church of Sant'Antonio.
