The Pasiano area is
scattered with
exquisite villas and
manor houses built
between 1500 and1800,
in particular: Villa Montereale-
Mantica-Saccomani at Pasiano
(17th-19th centuries, today
housing the Town Hall); Villa
Gozzi (16th-18th centuries),
Villa Cavazza-

(from
16th century) and Villa Zancariol
(1700 ca.) at Visinale; Villa
Luppis at Rivarotta (19th cent.).
These are buildings erected by
the local or Venetian nobility
according to the prevailing villa
architecture in the 16th century,
envisaging a double function of
the building (both centre of
agricultural activities and leisure
place for the owners), which is
reflected in the architectural
structure itself, characterized by
the manor house as the isolated
central body and two side wings,
lower than the central body,
extending over the countryside
symbolically stating the owners'
exploitation aims. Notable
paintings are found in the
Churches of San Paolo at
Pasiano (A. Guardi, Vision of
San Giovanni of Matha, 1750
ca.) and of Santa Maria degli
Angeli at Visinale (M. Fogolino,
Enthroned Virgin with Child
and SS. John and Paul,
1523-1524)

The landscape surrounding
Pordenone is lively and varied,
changing from the ups and downs of
the Pedemontana hills and the green
area of Polcenigo to the expanse
of cultivated and clay-coloured fields
of the southern area.
