It is a lovely rural
small town near
the Collio
dominated by
Torondel hill, on
whose top Roman findings
were brought to light and
where the corner tower of a
lost castle is extant. At the
centre of a luxurious park,
Villa Codelli, former

Kobenzl, was built in the
17th-century, though several
times restructured. The
Parish Church of
S. Andrea was destroyed
during the war and rebuilt
in 1927: it houses a delicate
wooden set of Virgin with
Child (end of 15th -
beginning of 16th century)
probably ascribable to the
Domenico da Tolmezzo
school and coming from the
rural church of Madonna
del Preval (1599 with 18thcentury
adjustments)
