Prehistoric finds
were brought to
light in the area:
three tombs
excavated in the
rock at Chiauians and four
in Cuel dal Fari. Examples
of typical architecture are
scattered in the
municipality, among which
elegant Palazzo Beorchia at
Trava. The small
Sanctuary of

Madonna di
Trava was once much
visited as a particular belief
(widespread also in Kärnten
and Slovenia) attracted
people there: it was generally
believed, in fact, that the
Virgin venerated there would
grant the dead children
brought to the sanctuary a
short enough resurrection so
as to be baptized.
