Among the works
contained in
the church of
S. Giacomo (early
17th cent., while
the imposing bell tower dates
from 1732) is the wood
covering of the baptismal font
(1672-73) by a certain
'Zuane', a master carver
from Gemona. Built on a
hexagonal plan, the church
contains four carved scenes
from the Baptist's life and
two fantastic landscapes; on
top of the dome

is the statue
of the Baptist. Inside are
paintings by G. Angeli
(the Happy Death of
St. Joseph after Piazzetta's
style, 18th cent.), O. Politi, a
native of Clauzetto and the
leading Neoclassical painter
in Friuli (St. John the Baptist,
1824), V. Tramontin (Gabriel
Archangel and Our Lady of
the Annunciation, 1949).
Noteworthy are also the high
altar and the altar of
Purgatory souls (18th cent.).
Beside the church of
San Paolo and the oratory of
San Giuseppe at Dominisia,
a worthwhile walk is to the
charming 'grotta verde'
(green cave) at Pradis,
one of whose walls was the
background in 2002 of
a much debated
performance by U.S. artist
Jenny Holzer.
