Brugnera, a
furniture
industrial centre, has
increased its cultural
offer in recent years
thanks to the exhibitions
housed in the 17th-century
Villa Varda, fascinating for
its large park-

redesigned in
the 1800s according to the
prevailing landscaping
standards of the time.
Winding along the course of
River Livenza, the park is
graced with a classicising
orangery and an elegant
Neo-Gothic chapel.
Not far from Villa Varda, the
Church of San Cassiano is
worth mentioning for its
stone font (1525) and a
fresco of Dead Christ by
Francesco da Milano, two
typical works of the early
16th-century decorative
standards. Datable to the
same period, but more
markedly Venetian, is the
Enthroned Virgin with Child
and Saints by M. Fogolino
in the Parish Church,
whereas the style of the late
15th-century fresco by
A. Bellunello portraying
San Bernardino da Siena
- in the cemetery churchis
still marked by the use
of lines.

of cultivated and clay-coloured fields
of the southern area.
The geographic, historical
and cultural
