Long rows of
plane-trees or
poplars, winding in
the countryside, line
the paths that run along
|
 |
the borders of the
Azzano territory. Following,
or sometimes leaving them,
you may happen across small
ponds, or wineries producing
excellent wines and - works
of art. This is what happens to
those who venture as far as
the church of Santa Lucia in
Colle (with frescoes by Pietro
Gorizio, 1500 ca.) or around
Villa della Torre -called
Pedrina- at Tiezzo, of 16thcentury
origin complemented
in the following century with
the church of San Giuseppe.
16th-century wall paintings are
also found in the oratory of
Santa Croce and in the old
Parish Church of Fagnigola
(while the new Neo-Gothic
building dedicated to
San Michele Arcangelo has
been decorated by T. Donadon
and shows sculptures by
M. Mascherini).

The landscape surrounding
Pordenone is lively and varied,
changing from the ups and downs of
the Pedemontana hills and the green
area of Polcenigo to the expanse
of cultivated and clay-coloured fields
of the southern area.
The geographic, historical
and cultural
development of
the whole territory
