Even though most
of the municipality
artistic and architectural
wealth was lost in the
earthquake of 1976, its
environmental assets have
remained untouched, often
offering moving views, as,
for example, the Fontanone
Barman, reached from
Leschiazze following the

road to Sella Carnizza. At
Stolvizza, a Museum of knife
sharpening was opened in
1999 dedicated to a craft
which was much practised
among Resia's inhabitants but
has now almost disappeared.
In the same neighbourhood,
Casa Lettig offers a
remarkable example of 18thcentury
architecture. At Poje
of S. Giorgio di Resia a small
ethnographic museum shows
aspects of everyday life in the
past. In the Pieve di S. Maria
Assunta di Prato, a wooden
statue of Virgin with Child by
Giacomo Martini is kept, the
last remaining piece of a
larger carved altar of 1535.

(also mentioned by
the Florentine historian
Filippo Villani), of
1511 (that halfdestroyed
