Fiume Veneto is
often identified
with its wide
industrial estate
and, at the same
time, with one of the main
residential areas of nearby
Pordenone. However, it has
artistic importance of its own
thanks to sites as the church
of Santa Maria della
Tavella (with late 14th century
mural painting in the
choir), the church of San
Giacomo at Praturlone (with
frescoes by A.

1503, including a Crucifixion
and Miracles of St. James, the
latter quite recurrent in local
iconography between the 14th
and 16th centuries) and the
church of San Michele
Arcangelo at Pescincanna,
whose walls have recently
revealed fragments of an
exquisite frescoed cycle
datable to the 13th century
with episodes from the lives
of Mary and Jesus.
